Hello Homeowners:
We have several projects that are being discussed during board meetings and we understand how difficult it is to get out during the week night to attend. We wanted to give you some highlights of projects we are discussing and welcome your constructive comments in this forum as we endeavor to move forward on these projects:
- The Pointe At Jamestown sign at the neighborhood entry is hard to read both day and night and we are exploring our options for a new sign or at the very least painting the existing signage with more contrasting colors. If we want a new weather resistance, maintenance free sign we are looking at least $1,000 (that’s a minimum and we are not sure that will be all that fancy.) We are exploring the option of painting the existing sign as a secondary option.
- We are getting pricing for pressure washing the front entry brick and possibly repainting it, as well as the white fencing along the front entrance drive.
- We have been awarded a $350 grant toward the front “island” restoration project. With the funds earmarked (per grant application process) specifically for drought resistant plants for the island median (along the lines of what they have listed at Olde Town Medical Center where we have our monthly meetings) like: Purple Cone Flowers, Black-Eyed Susan’s, Asters, Daisies, Blanket Flowers, Daffodils, etc. The homeowners must do the planting (also a requirement of the grant.) So we are waiting for cooler weather and some repairs to be completed on the front sprinklers before moving ahead with this project. We would love you involvement.
Development notes that we have include:
- It has been noted construction going along the trail at the back of the neighborhood and heavy equipment driving over the spillway and levy. JCC has been contacted and they are keeping a close eye on the project. The county will verify that all the BMP’s there are OK prior to releasing the developer working on the trail.
As a volunteer board, we appreciate your positive, constructive feedback on ways we can make our neighborhood better for everyone.
